How do you keep your patients' records? In an index card or in some paper?
I keep my dental records usually using these forms patterned with the government's forms. I also keep them using record cards that can be bought in dental stores as well.
Can we have a sample of the form filled up by patients? What are the required field on the form?
Yes. You may also have this medical form that patients usually fill out for us dentists to know if they have diseases, allergies, or important medical histories so that we will be
conducting appropriate procedures to cope up with their ailments.
Who is the one who fills up these forms? You or the patient?
I usually ask the patients their important details and I will be the one to write them down. I am the one who write down their dental records.
Who is assigned to arrange and update records of patients?
Since my clinic is a small one and I do not have an assistant, I am the one to assign and arrange the records.
Do you keep records of financial transactions? How?
Yes. I keep a logbook of the balance of patients because some patients pay in installments.
Do you think that this kind of technology/software can help you manage your records? Why or why not?
Yes, I think it would be better if the records are computerized for easier management.
What features do you want to add that you think can improve the project?
Do not just focus on creating a website that keeps only their dental records. Dentists also need to keep track of the patients' medical history as well. You may want to include
their medical records because this would greatly help the dentists before doing delicate prodecudes on the patients.
You can also add a feature that reminds patients about their dental appointments. Patients are recommended to come every six months and a feature that notifies them about
this would greatly help.
Profiles. Dentists have different fields and most patients do not know which dentist to consult or to negotiate with. Publications on the site about the dentists' special fields
would be promising.
Also, one of my problems is the financial transactions with the patient. Your product would sell if you include a feature that reminds the patients of their remaining balance so
that they won't forget about it.
Another thing, to help dentists promote their works, a feature that allows patients to post the before and after pictures of their teeth would be nice.
Dentists also keep X-rays and dental charts, putting these records on the website may be difficult but having them will definitely improve the site and can attract many potential clients for you.
Promotions. To attract possible customers, dentists can promote on the site on their specific fields and their specialties.
Track records. This is like a counter of procedures that the dentist has already done from the time of usage of the software. It would help the dentist know if he should buy more tools for a specific procedure (eg. cleaning, correcting, repairing)
Do you have any problems regarding your record keeping?
Yes. The records are all kept on my cabinet. They are sometimes hard to maintain. Also, clients sometimes forget about their remaining balance or they do not usually
compute.
Are you willing to pay for this software? How much do you think this would cost?
Well, it depends. The software you are trying to sell can honestly improve the record-keeping of my clinic. There are existing programs that are similar to yours, but dentists
usually ignore them because they are expensive and not practical for use. So, if the price is right, I may be convinced to buy the project.
